Embrace it: One Voice for the Development of BCS
Baja California Sur is writing a new history for the development of the state. Through the Embrace it programme, a firm step is taken towards a more sustainable, fair and transparent model, where each foreign visitor contributes directly to the care, evolution and transformation of tourist destinations.
After a strategic meeting held on July 15, between Mtra. Bertha Montaño Cota, Secretary of Finance and Administration, Rosa Maribel Collins Sánchez Secretary of Tourism and Economy, Mtra. Claudia Angulo Castro, General Director of Revenue, Fernando Ojeda Aguilar, Undersecretary of Tourism, Jesús Ernesto Ordóñez Bastidas, General Director of the State Tourism Trust, Rodrigo Esponda Cascajares, General Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust, Luz María Zepeda Esquerra, General Director of the La Paz Tourism Trust, Víctor Manuel López López President of the Business Coordinating Council in La Paz and TTMx (Tourist Tax Mexico), The institutional commitment to operate this program under a single voice was reaffirmed.
Leaders from finance, tourism, and the private sector stand united with TTMx to deliver a streamlined, collaborative approach to the Embrace it program.
That is our message today: government, private initiative and civil society working together, with the same objective: A clear, aligned and constructive narrative.
Embrace it applies to all foreign visitors who stay more than 24 hours in the state with the exception of children aged 12 years or younger, legally supported by Article 129 Bis of the State Finance Law. Payment must be made online through the official sites: https://embrace.bcs.gob.mx and https://www.travelkore.com.
Today, thousands of travelers are already complying. They do it quickly, safely and smoothly. Baja California Sur is leading that transformation.
The resources raised will finance infrastructure, environmental protection and social development projects through a public trust. The use of technology such as the Travelkore platform ensures efficiency, traceability and a frictionless experience for the traveler.
In addition, the collection agreement was consolidated from the origin and at the time of booking, thus strengthening communication channels with airlines, agencies and tour operators. This step is essential to ensure clarity, efficiency, and legitimacy in the process.
At TTMx, we assume responsibility for coordinating the communication strategy, always in direct collaboration with the State Government. Because we believe that transparency, consensus, and coordinated action are the best tools to consolidate a successful public policy.
Embrace IT is more than just about compliance. It is an invitation. To take care of what we enjoy. To leave a positive footprint. To promote responsible and inclusive tourism. And to work, as we did yesterday, as one team, with one voice.
