Visitax Mandatory Tourist Tax
Visitax is a mandatory tourist tax established under Quintana Roo state law. All foreign visitors staying in the state are legally required to pay this tax as a condition of their visit, regardless of how travel or accommodation is booked.
Visitax must be paid separately and directly by the traveler through an authorized collection mechanism. Payment is independent of airfare purchase, package booking, or lodging arrangements and is not embedded in any transportation or accommodation transaction.

This applies to travelers visiting destinations such as Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and Cozumel. To avoid delays or inconvenience, payment should be completed in advance.
